DESIGNER. TRAVELER. PHOTOGRAPHER.
RACHEL KLEIN
About Me
Growing up watching my grandparents and dad owning and working at an art supply made art a constant part of my life. I took a lot of it for granted until I started college as a music education major and missed my photography and art classes. My love for travel comes from my family; mostly my dad. I feel truly blessed for all the opportunities I have had to travel the world: from Hawaii to South Korea, I have loved every minute of it. Different elements from the cultures I have been surrounded by make their way into my work and my art.
Great Wall of China
July 2018 || International Studies || South Korea. Japan. China.
This trip was not only to study abroad, but also to participate in the MUX Beijing International Design Conference, where I was selected as the Creative director for a group of students from Korea, China and Japan. Together, we created a product design based on the current smart watch that would not only collect data on heart rate, but would also collect data from your neuron response in the body and the response to heat.
Jumping from 10,000 ft.
Jumping over Lake Michigan || August 2018
Flying 10,000 feet into the air in a rickety plane, attached to a complete stranger only to jump and free fall 200+ mph towards the ground?
Completely worth it.
Moving Across the Country
Atlanta, GA || June 2019
I moved from Brookings, South Dakota to the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia for my new job at IBM. Definitely the biggest adventure yet.
